Shredder hire
Mobile shredder hire for the bulky, awkward material other machines choke on. Slow-speed, high-torque shredding reduces construction waste, timber and mixed loads to a size you can screen, crush or cart on your own site.
/ overview
A hired mobile shredder is the first stage on a messy waste stream. It grinds bulky, contaminated and oversize material down to a manageable size so it can be screened, crushed or carted with far fewer truck movements. It’s the machine that turns an unworkable pile into something you can actually process.
We arrange Komplet slow-speed shredder hire through our own stock and the machine owners we work with. These high-torque machines are built for bulky construction waste, timber and mixed waste. We match the right machine to your site, operated or dry, and get it there ready to run.
A one-off clean-up or a stockpile of bulky waste is exactly the kind of job hire is built for.
/ what you can shred
Built for the awkward stuff.
Bulky construction waste
Reduce mixed construction and demolition waste, including awkward oversize material a crusher or screen can't take straight, into a manageable, sortable size.
Timber, pallets and green waste
Break down waste timber, pallets, branches and mulch feedstock, cutting bin volume and turning bulky organics into product.
Contaminated and mixed loads
Slow-speed, high-torque shredding chews through the contaminated, tangled and stringy material that stalls faster machines.
Volume reduction
Shrink the footprint of bulky waste before it goes to landfill, to a crusher or across a screen, reducing truck movements and airspace.
/ machines available
Slow-speed, high-torque.
We arrange shredder hire across the Komplet range through our own stock and the machine owners we work with. Availability varies by region and season, so tell us your job and we’ll match a machine. The Komplet Krokodile is a slow-speed shredder rated to 150 tph on construction waste, with a 1,500 mm shaft delivering 160,000 Nm of torque. Low speed and high torque are what let it grind through bulky, contaminated and stringy material that wraps and stalls faster machines. We arrange it to suit your feed and your site.

What a hire looks like.
- 01
Scope the job
Material, tonnage, how contaminated it is, site access and how long you’ll be shredding.
- 02
Match the machine
We arrange the right throughput and setup, operated or dry, to suit your crew and pad.
- 03
Shred on site
The machine arrives, gets set up and starts feeding bulky waste in and stockpiling reduced material out.
- 04
Off hire
When the pile’s reduced, we collect the machine. You keep the saving in cartage and airspace.
/ what drives the cost
Why there’s no fixed day rate.
Shredder hire is quoted per job, because a handful of drivers move the number. Get these in front of Craig and you’ll get a rate that reflects your job, not an average.
Machine size and throughput
Shredders are sized to the material and the tonnes per day. A machine built for heavy construction waste hires at a different rate to a lighter unit, so we match it to your feed.
How long you need it
Day, week or across a project. Longer hires generally lower the rate per tonne, because mobilisation is spread across more shredding.
Operated or dry
Whether we supply an operator, and who fuels the machine, moves the number. Tell us how your crew is set up and we quote it that way.
Getting it there
Float distance and transport to and from your site feed into mobilisation. A job near base costs less to service than one hours away.
Material and contamination
Contaminated, tangled or heavily reinforced material is harder on shafts and teeth. The nastier the feed, the more wear the hire carries.
Volume and access
How many tonnes you shred, and how easily the machine can be fed and cleared, decide how many days you actually need it.

/ questions
Common questions
What can I shred with a hired shredder?
Bulky and mixed construction and demolition waste, waste timber and pallets, branches and green waste, and contaminated or tangled loads that a crusher or screen can't take directly. A slow-speed shredder reduces this material to a size you can sort, screen, crush or cart with far fewer truck movements.
How much does shredder hire cost?
Shredder hire is quoted per job. The cost is driven by the machine size and throughput, how long you need it, whether it runs operated or dry, the float distance to your site, and how contaminated and demanding your material is. Tell Craig what you are shredding, the rough tonnage and the location and you will get a real quote.
What is the difference between a slow-speed and a fast shredder?
Slow-speed, high-torque shredders run heavy shafts at low rpm to grind through bulky, contaminated and stringy material without wrapping or stalling. They are ideal for mixed construction waste and timber, and the workhorse for first-stage size reduction before screening or crushing. We arrange the machine to suit your material.
Can I shred and then screen or crush?
Yes. Shredding is often the first stage. Reduce the bulky material, then run it across a screen to size it or through a crusher to finish it. We can arrange the machines to work together and size them to your throughput.
